Benefits of Telemedicine
Telemedicine allows you and your family members to receive prompt medical attention from a skilled and experienced First Class Primary Care and Wellness Center provider – from the comfort of your own home. This is especially valuable for those who live in remote locations or have difficulty leaving their homes. It’s also super convenient for busy people.
The many benefits of telemedicine include:
- Schedule appointments that are convenient for you
- No more waiting weeks or months to be seen
- No more traveling out of your way to get to the doctor’s office
- No more wasted time sitting in a waiting room
- You don’t even have to leave the house!
What Telemedicine Is Used for
The healthcare we deliver via eMDnow includes some common urgent care and primary care services, such as treating respiratory infections (colds, flu), skin conditions, and pink eye, as well as chronic disease management (arthritis, diabetes, hypertension). Mental health services are also available via our telemedicine appointments.
Note: Our veteran disability exams and medical marijuana evaluations are performed in-person only.
In general, telemedicine is designed to diagnose and treat non-emergency situations. If you are experiencing a medical emergency or life-threatening symptoms, call 911 or visit the nearest emergency room at once.
What to Expect from Online Doctor Visits
During your online appointment, you and your First Class Primary Care and Wellness Center provider will discuss your health history and any symptoms you are experiencing. The physical portion of the exam is remarkably robust. Bluetooth-enabled devices help our providers collect your vital signs and diagnose your condition. A wide range of injuries, infections, conditions, and other concerns can all be assessed and addressed during a telemedicine visit.
If your provider determines you require medicine, we can prescribe it during your telemedicine appointment. It will be called into your pharmacy so you or a loved one can pick it up as soon as it’s ready. Please note that First Class Primary Care and Wellness Center does not prescribe controlled substances.
After your online appointment is over, you’ll receive an electronic record of the visit and its findings to ensure seamless continuity of care and appropriate follow-up.
