At Veterans Healthcare, we accept Medicare, Medicaid, Cigna, Human Military (Tricare), Florida Blue, and other commercial plans via out-of-network coverage.
Through an agreement with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), we can accept veterans who participate in the Veterans Choice program, which allows veterans to seek care outside the VA in the following circumstances:
- Veterans who need care that would take more than 30 days to get
- Veterans who need care but live more than 40 miles away from the closest VA
- Veterans who need a particular service not covered by the VA
If you are accessing care through the VA Choice program and are seen for something other than a service-related condition, you will be responsible to pay a co-payment at the time of service.
Please contact your insurance company or you may call our office at (800) 511-0497 to find out if we accept your plan. If your insurance plan requires you to pay a co-payment, co-insurance, and/or a deductible, you will need to pay at the time of your visit. For your convenience we accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
If you have a question related to your bill or insurance, please contact our billing specialists at (800) 511-0497.
If one of our providers suggests a specialist evaluation or diagnostic testing that requires a referral, we will make every effort to provide this for you as soon as possible.
Some referrals require insurance preauthorization and cannot be processed immediately. Insurance guidelines prohibit us from backdating referrals. We require three business days for the processing of routine referrals.
Prescriptions and refills for established patients of Veterans Healthcare may be requested through our patient portal.
Veterans Healthcare does not issue prescriptions for controlled substances.
No refills are issued during the evenings, weekends, or holidays, as the doctor may not have access to all your medical records during those times. It is helpful to anticipate your refill needs to avoid an interruption in your medication therapy.
